Fancy Oak Parlor guitar
Beautiful banjo fingerboard inlays , bound
neck and headstock, front and rear of body.
Spruce top, moustache
bridge.
Bridge has been remade at some stage to modernise and fit a slanted
bone saddle for improved intonation.A collectable 20's blues guitar,
High end Sovereign in very good playing condition. Marquetry inlay , front and
back, soundhole.
No cracks, plays well.
Note: Having said no cracks, these is one fine line on the front, lower treble side from the edge marquetry along a spruce grain, just over 2"
It is old, stable.
Will add photo.
Great frets, straight
neck.
A lovely desirable guitar.
VG. Comes with old non-original
hardcase.
NOTES: I have mentioned above where the
moustache bridge has been replicated to include a slanted saddle for improved
intonation.
I have owned this particular guitar in stock twice now. It was
sold be me a few years ago and traded back in by the customer who was upgrading
to a modern Martin acoustic. When I first purchased this guitar, it came
to me in original condition but appeared very dry, overly dirty, way too much more dirt than a desirable patina. Patchy and dusty and
the lacquer dry and chipping on the side bouts especially in the area
photographed, The lower bass side bout.
The guitar was cleaned a couple of
times, humidified, the body oiled and waxed and buffed and well presented for
sale. A shellac touch up was done around the bass end of the where a little
too much chipping away had occurred form previous work. So,I can say the side
walls of lovely grained oak appear to be a bit more open pored that usual, this
is just due to lacquer drying and thinning. It has not been sanded or
altered. Everything is good, original tuners work fine. A very nice high end OS Stella Sovereign I'm sure anyone would love in their vintage blues guitar collection.
