Vintage King H. N. White 2B Silver Tone Trombone Solid Player Vintage King Trombone with Sterling Silver Bell. Model Number: 1457 Serial Number: 267117 Crafted in 1945 Bore: Dual (Upper) .481, (Lower) .491 (see Catalog page) Bell: 7.25 Inch Diameter Finish: Spray on Clear Lacquer. Counterweight: Yes, HN White. Mouthpiece: King M-26. Case: French style case. Trombone Background: The fact that Tommy Dorsey, the most celebrated trombonist plays a King is evidence enough of the superb qualities possessed by this instrument. His beautiful tone and flowing style require an instrument that can translate the sentiment of this "Sentimental Gentleman" into a language which is the envy and admiration of musicians everywhere. So popular has this model become that is would be impractical for us to enumerate individually the hundreds of discriminating artists now playing the King 2B Trombone exclusively. Many outstanding "name" bands are not featuring trombone sections composed entirely of Kings. --White Way News Number 14, 1946 Trombone Condition: For sale by The H. N. White Company LLC, this magnificent Trombone with its solid sterling silver bell section, is one of the greatest trombones made by The H. N. White Company. The engraving is eye catching and a true work of art. This is one of the first trombones to be engraved with the famous King shield on the bell, made right after World War II. The bell is engraved “Silver Tone” making it one of the last before the company changed it to Silversonic. This Trombone was not in as good as shape as we normally purchase but we felt obligated to make this Trombone the best that it can be. This Trombone has been fully restored with new finish and dent removal. The body of the Trombone is in great shape with some very small scratches. The slide operates smoothly, and is in great condition. The slide is smooth and fast in all positions and an ease to play. The slide has been serviced by The Slide Doctor and is in ready to play condition. · The trombone has been re-lacquered and has a 99% perfect finish. · The solid Sterling Silver bell has not been lacquered. · The engraving has been re-engraved. · Gold wash is new and about 99% perfect. · The tuning slide has some small scratches on it, see pictures. · The slide has been serviced by The Slide Doctor. · The inner slide is original and has no wear marks. · The slide is a nine out of ten. · The counterweight has some scratches on it. · Comes with HN White French style case. The case overall is in good shape for its age. The exterior has seen better days. The interior is in awesome shape. This Trombone has seen a lot of playing time and is ready for another sixty years. We have spared no expense to make this trombone perfect. This trombone sounds and plays fantastic and is ready for you.
