Description
This is a late 1940s or early 1950s Vega Triumphal Amplifier. It was originally released as a lap steel amp by the Vega Music Company in Boston, Ma. It's fully functional and sounds amazing. I had to replace the power transformer (I still have the original if you want it) and some caps when I had it serviced at Phil's TV and Radio Repair in Belleview, PA. It still has its original 12" field coil speaker. I had Don at Phil's TV set it up stock and it kicks major butt. I brought it to a rehearsal the other day and had my buddy, Rick Witkowski from Crack The Sky play through it. I'll include a video of it here. This amp sounds so much better than any of the other amps at that rehearsal. If you're looking for vintage tone for days, this puppy has it. I've played many boutique amps, Zinky, Dr. Z, Megatone, Fuchs, Carr, Bad Cat, etc... This amp can go tone to tone with any of those. The Vega is not an ear bleeder, I bet it's running about 20 watts but man, does it sing. By the way, it sounds great for harmonica as well. Killer Chicago tone. I'm also including an old army green sailcloth amp cover with SAFETY DEPARTMENT stenciled on it. How cool is that? I always ship insured and I accept returns, so you've got nothing to lose.
