Jupiter JHR-452D 3-Valve French Horn (F or Bb) Product Description The JHR-452D is a high quality student French horn, designed with three valves for simplicity and lightness and adjustable hand and finger rests to allow for a small and growing hand. The horn is supplied with both F and Bb slides, which can be easily swapped over. Mouthpiece is included. There is also a clever design feature which allows the hand playing position to be moved outwards as the player grows (and it is supplied with an extension set of linkages for this purpose. It is currently set-up for a small player, with the touch pieces enclosed within the wrap of the horn. The Jupiter range is strongly built and offers the new player a very strong start to their playing career - which means they are more likely to maintain their interest.  The higher price is well justified. This item has been out on rental for the past 2 years to one of our local student players. The Bb slides are present and can be stored in the hard case. The player can remove the F slides and insert the Bb slides, thus learning in the key of Bb; a useful prelude to owning a BB/F model in later years. Specification: · Lacquer finish
· Bore size: 0.472" (11.99mm)
· Bell diameter: 11.89" (30.2cm)
· Rose brass leadpipe
· Two sets of slides (F and B flat)

· Robust wooden shell case Condition Description As with all of our instruments, the horn has been fully serviced by our brass technician, and has been tested to ensure that it plays well. The rotors and slides are in excellent condition, clean and unmarked, and with a smooth action. The cosmetic condition of the horn is imperfect, as it has had a few years use by a student. The wear is appropriate to the age and usage of this item. You will see significant scratching on the lacquer and rippling of the brass on the lead pipe to the bell (these miniature dents are too small for workshop removal and do not affect the playing performance), and various smaller scratches and dings scattered across the instrument. This is a robust model and our workshop has serviced it to a very good mechanical playing standard. You will not need to spend any further money in the short term - assuming your player maintains it in the normal way.
