It has been in my family since its sell so, essentially, it has been with only one owner and very well cared for.
Appraised at 35k (appraisal notes included in pics). New Information Found on Pianos Paperwork: Piano is is perfect playing condition and great cosmetic condition. It plays as well as a brand new Steinway. It was restored in 1969 at a Steinway Authorized Dealer. In 1972 the pianos fall board was painted again (new layer over the old layer, no sanding down) and the original Steinway and Son Sons logo on the fall board was painted over (Painting was done by authorized Steinway restorer but rather than applying the normal logo to the fall board he had them make a Steinway logo plate to put on as the fall board logo ( I am told these plates where used for Steinway Special Edition Pianos like the White House Piano, but in this case it was just the easiest option for him).Every part of the piano, inside and out is Steinway and Sons. Original bench that was sold with the piano in 1929 is included. Appraiser stated "all Steinways play beautifully but some do sound better than others and this one is perhaps the most beautiful I have heard..." Recently appraised at $30,000 but that appraisal was far to high even in a perfect market. Number to Steinway Authorized Dealer who appraised the piano will be made available upon request.
