A superb English certified violin bow J.Tubbs, gold mounted,Tourte model, 1870.

A superb, rare English certified violin bow made by James Tubbs in London ca. 1870 on a wonderful earlier Tourte model. This a remarkable gold mounted example with a solo level outstanding sound and equally fine handling.
The stick is medium brown pernambuco, round, strong with some nice flexibility, good balance, excellent handling and a wonderful quality, rich sound. The frog and button are ebony with gold mountings. The bow is in a very good state of preservation, ready to play with a new hair. The length of the stick is 72.7 cm and the weight of the bow is 59 g.
