Great Martin Committee Bb trumpet horn of the jazz legends. Buy this great horn for this 2016 Summer season and more years to come :) This Martin has lots of jazz character and sounds great. It is an earlier 1950s horn serial range #18xxxx with medium bore which was measured and came to 0.453". It is a players horn not a museum piece. It`s the horn which sounds great and you don`t have to worry about the lacquer when you take it to play to a club venue. Horn appears to be refinished long ago and it has now very nice honey darker lacquer looking patina. It appears that during that time pinky saddle on the leadpipe was changed for more comfortable one than original, 3rd finger saddle and ring were installed on the top of the 3rd slide pipe and 1st valve trigger was added. I was thinking to change these back but I decided not to and leave this decision to the next owner as someone out there may like the trigger option. Both ring and trigger are working as these should. Lacquer is overall great shape with minor wear expected for the horn of this age. Please see all photos. All slides are coming out and valves are smooth and fast with no wear and great compression. Horn is ready to jazz and roll at your house or stage in the club. Take it to the jam and show off your vintage Committee ! It's a very nice playing and looking medium bore Committee with a vintage character to it in desirable #18xxxx earlier 1950s serial range. Don't miss.
Comes with vintage Holton Case which features a valve section holder which makes it safe as horn is not moving inside the case. Handle and latches are fine. Case interior is fine , exterior is very good as well.No mouthpiece included . This is a Perfect horn and/or gift for a Miles Davis / Chet Baker fanatic :-)
