Broadwood Antique Upright Piano with an Inlaid Rosewood Case C.1906 A beautiful John Broadwood and Sons antique upright piano built at the firm's Old Ford, Hackney workshops circa 1906, serial number 102223. Polished rosewood case with beautiful wood grain, exquisite floral inlay to front panel, oblique strung iron frame with underdamped mechanism, 7 octaves, original 85 note keyboard with some discolouration, working order, retractable music desk, solid brass pedals, soft and sustain. A good beginners instrument and fine antique centrepiece by the illustrious London maker. Dimensions W 150cm x H 132cm x D 62cm Broadwood History Established in 1728, John Broadwood and Sons is the oldest and one of the most prestigious piano makers of all time. Their instruments have been enjoyed by famous composers and musicians, including: Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Liszt and Williams. Broadwood also holds the Royal Warrant for pianoforte making to Queen Elizabeth II and all predecessors since 1761.
